Ramses!

I interrupt my regularly programmed long post to exalt the New York Football Giants' wide receiver Ramses Barden.

In his first start of his career, a career in its fourth season, Ramses used his 6'6" frame and helped destroy the Carolina Panthers, catching nine passes for 138 yards. I've been talking about this kid ever since he got drafted. He was finally given the chance to shine, and took hold.

Why should I care this much? He's a Mustang, a Cal Poly kid. Go Ramses!

And, sorry guys for maybe monopolizing this blog. I don't really try to, it just kinda happens.

  1. Pat, if you didn't have a post on Ramses Barden, I was going to put one up to ask you about him. And you know, of course, that John Madden in a Cal Poly alum, too, right?

I got more caught up than is seemly on the Homeric 14-inning Yankee victory from yesterday. I have a question: the guys on the A's who don't have beards - are they just too young to shave? Almost everybody on that team has REALLY ill-advised facial hair - I never saw so many ugly beards in one place in my life.

  2. You're monopolizing the blog because your other two posters are neglecting it, each for his own reasons. For myself, I have the second job of looking for a permanent job ... I come home after working, and hit the web and comb through emails etc. etc.

I hope this space doesn't take away from your other projects.

  3. I don't really know about the A's and their bad facial hair. I do know earlier in the season, while they were on their sizzling July run that they had started doing a dance craze that's sweeping the south, a dance that's based on, no joke, "Weekend at Bernie's 2". You're supposed to dance like a reanimated zombie. Can't make this up...check out the video when you get a second.

  4. That dancing cracked me up, no lie. I liked it a lot. I mean, it's mostly just a nuance different from what's done now, but, still.

Was "Weekend at Bernie's 2" in the running on that sequel contest? I didn't think so.

  5. Well then... this is a bit late... but I think if we are talking about bad sequels (which I think we are NOT talking about that) then I would mention Tremors 3 (ass blasters?). I am not sure of the actual title...
